The Lore of the Leaders in Causa. Part I: Glory.

Hey!

As you may already know, we recently completed 12 playable Leaders in Causa, with 3 Leaders for each of the Powers in the game: Glory, Wealth, Influence, and Spirit.

Each of these Leaders have special abilities, which will have a very strong and decisive impact in the game.

In this series of dev blog posts, we’d like to share the lore of these characters, starting with the Leaders of Glory - Matriara, Fadun, and Eudala -, which represent the 3 Archetypes in this power: Warrior, Worker, and Survivor.

Matriara, General of Elyr

"At the early age of 15, Matriara already showed her military prowess, leading the extreme tactics that would allow the Elyrian to expel the imperial forces and regain their independence. Today, 20 years after this revolution, she remains as one of the Empire of the Sun's most feared generals.

Multiple legends have emerged around the figure of this revolutionary general, as her rise was accompanied by pain and the arrival of the ashen beasts. But beyond myths and conflicts, the army she leads is currently one of the most powerful forces to face the Dusk."

Fadun, Master Blacksmith

"By the end of the Ethnic War, stability was achieved in Astaria not only due to the rise of the Empire, but also thanks to the compromise between the tribes and the refugees of Terak. This promise of peace without subjugation nor dominance was known as the Pact of Chains. This way, what once was a symbol of oppression, turned into one of strength and unity.

Since then, each tribe elects a sage to act as their spokesperson, and as the link between the peoples. With this responsibility, Fadún, the master blacksmith of Elyr, has reinforced the position of his guild in Terak, counting on the impetuous support of the Clans to face the power of the Empire, and the merciless devastation of the Dusk."

Eudala, The Returned

"When Bakaer the Tyrant began the invasion to the Teraki clans, the Ulnars that opposed the war were declared deserters of the Empire. Within the opposition were the Pale Renegades, who escaped to Elyr to support the rebellion.

On the day of the Elyrian victory, Eudala, leader of the Renegades, disappeared along with her troops after the Dusk burst the battlefield. For twenty years no one knew of her whereabouts. When the Second Expansion came, she and some of her followers reappeared, showing no signs of the time gone by."
